In the meantime, check out another gorgeous new Echo Park range.... I must say they have some beautiful designs lately. This little gem is A Boys Life and the gorgeous photo subjects are my ever adorable nephew and my beautiful Dad.

This is such a cute range! I even have the next photo of my nephew lined up for it.. I am doing a layout a month for his first 12 month's album, so we are half way through now. The little munchkin was 6 months old recently and is such a little character! We spent a bit of time with him on Australia Day playing (since he was in no mood to sleep!). This is the adorable photo lined up for the next page....

Before I go, I have another photo of a beautiful man that I want to share...

This is my beautiful Great Uncle Phil speaking at our wedding in 2004. His lost his battle with life this week and passed away on Wednesday afternoon at 94 years old. He is an amazing man who we cherished and admired. In 1996 he was awarded Medal of the Order of Australia for his service to the welfare ofveterans as an active member of the RSL since 1944, president of CorrimalSub-Branch since 1970 and vice- chairman of the Corrimal Diggers Rest Home since 1991.

The pic below is of Ben and I at our wedding day with Uncle Phil and his gorgeous wife (my maternal grandmother's sister). They are both so special to us and our family.

We lay him to rest this week and hope that he has finally found the peace he so truly deserves.

Lots of Echo Park fun!

I have been having a ball with the Echo Park Time & Seasons paper lately... it is a gorgeous range. So is the Yours Truly range. Head over to the Scraploot blog to check out this layout featuring this range...

I have also finished off the Time & Seasons range as well.... i couldn't help but use this all up straight away, I love it!!

This one is hubby and our nephew on Boxing Day in their matching Brewers jerseys.... I got some great pics of the 2 of them in their matching outfits lol!

The next one is my hubby's parents at Christmas Day lunch... Nass kept laughing and wouldn't keep a straight face!

This one is my parents with my gorgeous nephew.... he is quickly learning what the camera is now and is such a little poser!

Happy little family.... this is my gorgeous nephew and his beautiful parents, my brother and sister in law. He was so cute in his little Santa hat.

These two lovely people are my brother in law and soon to be sister in law. They will be getting married in March this year... it's been a long time coming and we can't wait!

And lastly, my gorgeous nephew again and his beautiful Mum. This one was Christmas Day. The little munchkin was so good and happily played and had a million photos taken!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Some Friday fun.....

Whilst busy getting organised for Christmas and wrapping up work for the year, I have thankfully been able to fit some creative time in (just!). I finished this page for Scraploot last week, featuring the Basic Grey Little Black Dress range.... Head over to the blog to check out the close ups and product list.

A beautiful (and rare) pic of my parents together and Dad not pulling faces at me!

This advent calendar is 3 years in the making lol! I bought myself and Mum one years ago and slowly got it finished! Needless to say, mine is almost finished... I might get it finished by next Christmas.

And I made this beautiful little album as a gift from Mum to one of her dearest friends. It was of her daughter's recent wedding (which oddly enough was where the lovely pic of Mum & Dad above, was taken).

And one last festive piece, my christmas card designs for this year. Anyone at the Scraploot social scrap a few months back will know the pain I went through making these, cutting and sticking the triangles did my head in lol!

A bit of DT work....

I had fun playing with more of the Basic Grey Little Black Dress range (head over to the blog post to check out the close ups).

As the door opens with Scraploot, sadly my time on the Words or Whatever DT has come to an end. I have finished up my 12 month term and had an awesome time playing with some fabulous chipboard. To finish off my last week, I glittered up a gorgeous piece of chippie.....

It was such a beautiful piece that I wanted to do something special. I have used various colours of superfine glitter and placed flowers alongside the flourishes.

A bit of gold bling.....

Why not throw some bling into the mix for the end of the week!

I love the My Mind's Eye papers and all the glitter.... I had fun with some gold glitter this time around.

Featuring some yummy Words or Whatever chippie... this one is the cute Leafy Tree and the Gorgeous title. Both have been inked in a dark chocolate brown ink and highlighted with gold Kindy Glitz. I kinda went a little crazy with the glitter!

The beautiful photo is my sister and our nephew.... how gorgeous are they both! We were all glammed up for a wedding and thought it a perfect for a photo op!

A little bit of creativity.....

I was able to squeeze in a little creative time this week! To get into the Christmas spirit, here's a page featuring a gorgeous WOW chipboard reindeer. I have glitter embossed the entire reindeer then cut out some of the features in the chipboard.

I finished the reindeer off with a bit of bling :)

I've also had a play with a gorgeous WOW title as well.....

I have inked and finished with Glimmermist, including the flourish.

Now I'm off to play with some more goodies.... keep your eyes peeled later in the week for the finished products.

Christmas is on its way!

If you have been over to the WOW blog this week, you will have noticed that it's starting to look very festive! November is Christmas month over at WOW and we are all getting in early with some Christmas spirit. With all the long hours at work lately, my energy and time have been completely zapped, however did get this done over the weekend and put on a few finishing touches this evening....

This features the WOW Ho Ho Ho chipboard title and part of the star border. The title was originally embossed but the red was too dark, so I went over it with some red glitter glue! Now it is exactly how I wanted it! With the star border, I only used part of it to "fly" across the top of the page. I inked this in red and then covered with the same red glitter glue. The gorgeous little munchkin is one of my cousin's daughters. Her grandmother had some fun with the camera last week and when I saw the photos, I couldn't resist scrapping one! There are some close ups below so you can see the glitter effect up better...

I also had the following page still not uploaded from the week before. For this page, I have used the WOW birds on a stand and lightly inked around the edges, leaving the rest nude.

And one more.... my sister's birthday card :)

I've inked up a small WOW flourish for this relatively quick and simple card.

Pretty wedding photos.....

What a week! I've worked way too many hours over the last 2 and a half weeks and now that I've unwound all weekend, it has well and truly hit me! Having hubby's laptop play up during the week and having to share mine after work has made things a little difficult with the amount of work we both needed to get to... thankfully it is all now fixed as of this morning, so I have mine back to myself again :)

First day of unwinding was at beautiful Moss Vale where I had a lovely day yesterday at the Melissa Kennedy class.... she is hilarious and such great fun, as well as being super talented! I have some finishing touches to put on the pages we did, so I will try to share them later in the week.

On to some WOW work though.... I did this page at last week's social scrap at Scraploot and finally was able to finish the title this morning and get some pics! I have so many beautiful wedding pics from the weddings we've been to lately, so I figure what better way to show them off than scrap!

This one features a gorgeous WOW chipboard scroll tree and the Moments title. I've triple embossed the title and simply inked and spritzed the tree with Glimmermist and added some bling :)

I've also used the gorgeous Kaisercraft paper range, which I was also lucky to get to use yesterday as well. I'm sooooo in love with this paper!! And a few close ups of the details for you.....

Getting creative....

Well the creative time has been a little thin of late with needing to bring a lot of work home to get through it, however I did escape and spent a decent part of 12 hours scrapping at Scraploot on Saturday. I got super productive and made my christmas cards, so I was stoked at getting through the fiddly process of it and knocking it over, as the next few weeks are going to be hectic! I even managed to get almost 2 LO's complete as well. Just as I was about to hit the picture button to upload, I just realised that I haven't actually taken photos yet, so you will have to wait for those sorry! I do however have a few other pages and an album I can share with you though....

To start with, a layout featuring the WOW School Days title....

And a few close ups for good measure....

And an album I've been working on for a while.... a lovely WOW mdf album.... When it first arrived, I immediately knew I wanted to capture the weddings from this year in it. We've had plenty of them, so it wasn't hard to find pics!

This one features a WOW chipboard title and garden chair.

I've kept the album in date order. We started off the year with Emily & Ryan's wedding at the Opera House. I have covered the WOW candleabra in pink glitter to fit with the pink glitzy theme of the wedding.

Next up was James & Nicole's big day. James is my husband's cousin and we headed down to Melbourne for this one. It was a lovely day and bitter sweet at the same time, as we had laid Ben's grandfather to rest the week earlier. It was lovely to see the family relax and unwind after a tense few weeks. A very emotional wedding! I have used a WOW corner flourish and part of the back of the frame from the next page.

Then just before we set off on our holiday, we celebrated Jason & Sue's wedding. Another emotional one! Jason is my brother's best friend and his family are long time family friends, so it was like watching another little brother getting married. My brother was the best man and it was so much fun. I have used a WOW mini chippie frame and was able to capture a few extra pics in it.

Only a few weeks ago, we celebrated the wedding of our very good friends, Andrew & Emma. Seems the emotion kept growing at each wedding we went to. The scenic Whale Beach was a beautiful backdrop. We all travelled together earlier in the year and were thrilled to be able to be there with them when they set off to get their wedding rings from Tiffany's in New York. We caught up with them just as the sales guy was handing over the beautifully wrapped boxes! This is the beautiful moment....

The most recent wedding was Manda & Dean's. Manda's mum and my mum have been friends for what seems like forever! Manda's beautiful mum Vicki was my mum's bridesmaid at her wedding! There is a little pic of them in the bottom corner, it's their trademark photo! A very emotional ceremony and reception speeches. Mum was in tears before the ceremony even started, god love her! It was a beautiful day and so much fun, the happy couple did not stop laughing and smiling from the word go, it was beautiful to see. I've used the WOW lace doily with this page.

And last up is ready to go as the wedding isn't until November. I was able to match the colours with the invite, so I can be super organised! Adam is a mate of Ben's from his ten pin bowling team. This one features the WOW chipboard circles and padlock.

And that's about it on the creative front for tonight.... back to finish off some more work before heading to bed.

New look blog....

Well I decided to change up the blog a bit and re-design. I figured I'd have a little play and then see how I like it for a few days! I just need to change out the header pic but given it took me forever to design last time, I figured I'd leave that for another day. Until then, it's slightly out of whack but slowly getting there!

If anyone has any handy hints on a quick easy fix for a header, please let me know. Otherwise I'm back to play around in PSE again :)

Some creativity for the weekend and a WOW sneak peek....

Arrghhhhh! Can't believe another weekend is almost over. I headed off to the big Scraploot farewell party last night and had so much fun! Had lots of wine and many more laughs. The visit from the fireman has us all in hysterics. I have not laughed so much in a long time! I did manage to get one page done at least! Seems I spent more time talking than I realised.

I got this page of my brother at his 30th finished....

This is a fav pic of mine :) I have used some gorgeous WOW chipboard, with the title and scroll flourishes all inked and finished in Crackle Accents. The paper and accessories are from the Bo Bunny Etcetera range. And a few close ups for you.....

In the last half hour, I thought I'd get super productive and start this one.... hmmm I stuck the base piece to the cardstock and that was it! I did find a bit of time this afternoon amongst ironing and cooking and replacing smoke alarm batteries (damn strata fire inspections this week!), to get it finished.....
I love the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found collection the first time and seriously love #2! This is my gorgeous husband at the Guiness Factory in Dublin on our holiday earlier this year. I have used the WOW chipboard title and double embossed with 2 tones of Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder and the Admit One Ticket is coloured with markers and sprayed with Glimmermist. And just so you can see the details.......

And I guess I will be nice and give you a sneak peek of my WOW blog post work for this week...

For the creative ones amongst us, here's a bit of inspiration for Hump Day!

Whilst still catching up on holiday pics, I now also have some lovely pics from my brother's 30th birthday! This one is of my brother, sister and I featuring the new Etcetera range from Bo Bunny paper range.... very yummy indeed! It wasn't great light last night, so I need to re-take the pic in daylight but you get the idea :)

A few close ups of the WOW chippie as well.... I've used the Time Flies title and the keyhole and inked both up in a dark brown and spritzed with some Glimmermist.
I'm off to a wedding this weekend to celebrate the union of 2 of our close friends and can't wait to chill out! Needless to say, I will have lots of lovely pics to scrap next week now!

Beautiful WOW

Welcome to a new week.....

I had been holding on to this gorgeous WOW dress form for the right papers and pic and whilst flicking through my holiday pics, found this one of Emma and I from Dublin. I've teamed it up with a WOW chippie title and inked it all up, finishing the title with Glossy Accents and the dress form with super fine glitter.

And a few close ups.... I've teamed up the gorgeous chippie with Authentique paper and some Prima and Kaisercraft flowers and Websters Blooms.

Sneak peek revealed.....

This is the finished layout featuring the Disneyland title and a flourish:

By adding the rub ons, it gives a lovely patterned effect and breaks up a continuous colour:

And whilst we are in the creative mood.... a few more layouts I've finished recently. I got on a roll with the holiday snaps. This one features the Hollywood chipboard title. I;ve embossed this with black and gold embossing powder.

A tad messy, but I love the end result with the embossing!
I love this new Authentique paper.... The So Special title and large flourish worked well. Ben looks so tiny with the Arc de triomphe towering over him! It truly was a special day and we are so glad we got to experience part of Paris.

Ah New York! Loved this city and can't wait to go back one day..... the baseball watch was a huge highlight for us both seeing as we are both baseball nuts!

I sprayed the chippie title with a coat of Glimmermist for a nice sheen.
More fun in Paris..... we walked part of the Champs Elysse. I've finished off the chipboard titles with a coat of ink and the larger one with some Tim Holtz distressing paint.

The circles are so much fun and I love this Eiffel Tower chipboard piece.

Some new bits of scrapping heaven....

I got super productive at the Scraploot social scrap on Saturday night and got 3 layouts (almost) complete! And to back it up, I finished a fourth last night! I must say it's the most I've done in a while.... so for your viewing pleasure......

This is the first photo I have scrapped of my gorgeous new nephew.... he is so adorable! The beautiful kit was designed by Sue at Scraploot and then I added some extra bits and pieces and layered some more paper.... as I usually do! And some close ups as well.....the WOW chippie title finished this off perfectly :)

And some more blue for good measure...... featuring yet again that adorable little nephew of mine! The new Authentique paper range and a few bits of WOW chippies.

I separated one of the corners to fit around the circle embellie that I had already stuck down and finished them all with some Twinkling H2O's.
Just to even it out, I had to use some pink. More of the beautiful new Authentique papers and WOW chippie.
I've inked up the chippie and then given it a spritz of Glimmermist.
And more balance with some pink goodness in the new Echo Park Victoria Garden range.....I've teamed this up with some pretty Kaisercraft and Prima flowers, WOW chippie and Bo Bunny pretties :)
I've coated the flourish in ink and finished with Glossy Accents. With the Chic title, I have covered in pink superfine glittery to give a super girly finish, fitting of Audrey Hepburn :)

Catching up in London

Whilst in London, I was able to catch up with my cousin after 9 years!! We didn't realise it had been so long and I finally got to meet her gorgeous little girl. Here's the first of one of our many photos, teamed up with some WOW chippie and the gorgeous Kaisercraft paper.

And some close ups for good measure.....
I just love this paper range and have used it so much! The flowers layer so well and the WOW chipboard finishes it off beautifully. The chipboard has been given a light spritz of Chalkboard glimmer mist.

Now I'm off to scrap one of the gorgeous new pics I got of my little nephew yesterday.... the gorgeous little munchkin is 2 weeks old and such a cutie!!

New WOW DT....

Along with a new look for Words or Whatever and the exciting news last week that WOW now has the biggest chipboard range in Australia, the new DT members were announced this week! It's been a busy few weeks for WOW.

I finally found some time over the weekend to get creative! I've been laid up with a chest infection for a few days and managed to drag myself out of bed on Sunday and was slightly productive! Needless to say I now have a lot of glitter floating around the place after playing with my favourite My Mind's Eye papers all day. Now for your viewing pleasure...

Some cute October Afternoon paper worked well for this male layout. Featuring the WOW London title, I have inked in different colours and then bladed out accents to highlight the bus and Big Ben. All have been finished with Glossy Accents. The WOW chippie flourish was inked as well and finished in Glossy Accents. I've started on a role with our holiday photos! Next up is the gorgeous My Mind's Eye paper featuring the WOW chipboard title, double decker bus and a ticket stub. Another pic of my gorgeous hubby in London.
I've inked everything and bladed out highlights on the bus and ticket stubb and finished with a spray of Pearl Glimmermist to keep with the glittery feel!
And one last one for you tonight.... More of the My Mind's Eye range featuring the WOW chipboard Big Ben clock and title. The title has been inked in a dark brown ink and the clock in a lighter brown/sand colour and accented around the edges with darker brown. Again I have bladed out the highlights of the clock and cut out the face and backing plate and mounted on 3D foam.

Baby gifts......

To welcome my brother and my sister in law's new bub to the world, I thought I'd do a layout for each month of the first year of the baby's life. I started with this for the day it's born (we don't know if it's a girl or boy yet, so everything is neutral!)

I have used lots of WOW - Words or Whatever chippie with the title, flourish and pram and a mix of yellow and grey papers and I had to throw a duck in as they are my SIL's favourite! This should get the little one off to a start. I put it in a temporary album and have to find a larger yellow one, given 13 pages won't fit in it! A few close ups too....

Getting creative......

So I've been trying to get this gorgeous little mini album full of recipes finished for quite a while now and I've done it! (well I've finished the main part of the album, now the fun part of filling it with my fav recipes!).

Just so you can all see the finished product.......

This gorgeous little mdf album is courtesy of WOW - Words or Whatever as are the cute chipboard kitchen set. I've inked the mixer on the front page and then defined all the lines by bladding out layers of the chipboard (hint - wait until it is really really dry before you attempt it and be in a really patient mood!). This is the rest of the album:

And for some further cuteness! One of my favourite pics of my cousin's little boy from a while ago. Some more WOW goodies..... The Cheeky Monkey title was inked and then I hand drew some stitching with white gel pen around the edges for a different effect. I had some fun with the flourish with some Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint and then re-inked over the top to define the crackling and finished off the cogs with some simple inking.

The last 4 weeks have just flown! I can't believe we are back from our overseas adventure already and back to work today.

"Happy Little Man" features a number of WOW chippie, with the chipboard title being inked and partially covered in patterned paper and glossy accents added to the word little; the chippie circle has been inked and the chippie banner has been inked and coated in glossy accents.

With "You & Me", I have inked all chipboard pieces and then covered the keyhole with superfine glitter, inked and coated the title in glossy accents and finished off the photo corner flourish with Tim Holtz distress embossing powder. I love this stuff! After a very long first day back at work, it's off to bed for this little chicken, as I'm exhausted and in for a huge day tomorrow!

Some lovely new WOW work....

Just a few more pretty pieces of work to share with you...... I got rather creative at the last Scraploot social scrap and actually decided to create a double layout.... yes completely my own decision, no pressure, no having to do it.... it was all me and I'm really happy with it!!

I love this pic of my sister in law and I at a recent wedding. Ree usually has her eyes closed or we have our heads wrong and create double chins, but this self pic worked perfectly :) I'm also completely in love with this Bo Bunny paper. I'm not usually a big fan, but am loving this range. Of course, I've had fun playing with some Words or Whatever - WOW chipboard and my Martha Stewart punch as well. The WOW signpost and "Moments" title have been inked and given a light spritz of pearl Glimmermist. I've also added a key in the bottom corner, which has been given a light ink and finished with a small pearl.

And a few close ups to see the details.... yes I'm still hooked on flowers!

And this is the double! I'm so happy with how it turned out.... again it's the same Bo Bunny paper range. With the WOW chippie, I have inked them all and then finished with a coat of Glimmermist. As the leaf tree was too big for the page with the 2 photos, I cut it into 2 parts so to keep with the flow on the double page. I have used another of the WOW keys and inked in a burgundy ink (a very lucky pick on the colour thankfully and it worked so well!). The "Cousins" title finishes it off. These pics were at Ben's cousins wedding in Melbourne last month. He doesn't see his cousins too often, so it was great to be able to capture them together. The bottom right pic is Ben with his Aunt, the mother of the groom.

Scraploot classes.....

I've been rather busy on the scrapping front over the last few months with starting to teach at Scraploot and my Design Team work for Words or Whatever and I've been having so much fun and loving the lovely network of creative friends I have made.

I haven't gotten around to posting the classes I've taught yet, so here goes...From March, the following 3 layouts.

And a few details for good measure... the ladies mastered the art of creating your own ribbon flowers.
"Adorable" was the monthly double with some fun, bright papers, featuring a Words or Whatever - WOW title.
And a few close ups of each side....
I love this Kaisercraft paper range..... another WOW chipboard title for this one too. They work so well!

Only 4 sleeps!!!!!

It's been creeping up on us for 6 months and is almost here! I remember thinking 4 weeks ago, it's okay I have heaps of time! Needless to say the last 2 weeks have flown and the stress has hit big time! We've had a long list of things to do at home and at work, so there have been many sleepless nights and huge amounts of stress. Thankfully things are settling down and we are getting excited. It's our huge once in a lifetime trip, so we are cramming as much in as we can and want to see everything we possibly can. This time next week we will be in Dublin with our friends we are travelling with and gearing up for London. Can't wait!!

Needless to say, I've been getting so many layouts done in short spaces of time..... if only I could always scrap like that! I've been having to get super organised before I go on holidays!

So a few bits and pieces for you all for this week....

This one is a pic of my younger brother at a recent family friend's wedding, where he was the best man. I love this paper range and the background of the photo worked in so well. He hates having his photo taken, so I have to snap it really quickly and absolutely love it! We got some great pics that day. I have used Words or Whatever - WOW chippie. Using the music note Flourish Border (C822) and a Flourish from Flourish Set (C1016) and inked them both and then thrown on a coat of glossy accents.

Here's a few close ups..... I am so in love with these new Maya Road flowers! Yes I am a flower nut!
I'm really loving this range.... Here's another one. This pic is of my hubby and I at the same wedding. Again some yummy flowers and WOW chippie. I've used the Flourish 7 (C180) and part of the S Curl Border (C979). The flourish has been sprayed with a coat of Glimmermist and the S Curl border piece has been inked then sprayed with Glimmermist and then inked again. The Glimmermist colour wasn't quite what I was after, so when I re-inked, the glittery sheen stayed.

Given how much I loved the pics from this wedding, I figured it fitting to actually scrap the bride and groom! Jason & Sue looked fabulous and it was such a wonderful (and slightly emotional) day. Sue did an amazing job matching all the purple aspects of the day perfectly, so I had to incorporate some purple in this one! Using WOW chipboard, I have used the "To Have & To Hold" title and part of the 12x12 Circle Frame Set (C828). I have inked up the title and with the cirle, inked then coated with glossy accents and finished with a sprinkling of super fine glitter for the bling effect.

Crazy times.....

Things are still a tad crazy in my life at the moment with work and personal commitments and less than 4 weeks until our holiday, so we are madly trying to get everything on our extremely long list sorted, with very little time to do any of it!! I have however, been able to sneak a few hours in for scrapping today finally!

With "Sweet Pea" I have used a Words or Whatever doily, inked it and then embossed with Tim Holtz Distressing powder. With the flourish, I have inked and given a light spritz of Glimmermist for a light shine. The paper is the pretty new range from Graphic 45.

And a few close ups......

With "True Love", I have used a WOW title, covered in Glossy Accents and then sprinkled with super fine glitter to finish. The WOW cogs have been inked in red and sponged in brown/black. The large one has been coated in Crackle Accents. The 2 small ones have a coat of Glossy Accents, sprinkled with German Glass Glitter. The paper is from the beautiful range of glitzy papers from My Minds Eye that I fell in love with!

A few new bits and pieces....

Just a few new bits to start off the week.....

Things have been chaotic at work the last few months, so my scrap time is extremely rare with the long crazy and extremely tiring hours I have been doing! The countdown is on to our overseas holiday as well, so things are more chaotic than ever at home as well!

On a sad note, my husband's beloved grandfather passed away last week. A last minute trip to Melbourne for the funeral saw us taking a huge road trip of almost 2,000km round trip in 3 days and we are backing up to do it again for a family wedding this weekend.... thankfully we booked flights for the wedding months ago as I don't think we could handle the drive again two weeks in a row! It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day in Melbourne and the service was lovely. It was good to see such a large turn out. The family was touched by a young lady who was extremely emotional and no one seemed to know who she was.... asking around we found out that she worked at the club that Gramps frequented and usually saw him daily and built up a friendship. It was lovely that she came along and paid her respects, she was obviously close to him and his passing had such a huge impact on her.

On a brighter note, I have been able to get the following pieces of work done recently.

In "Family is Forever", I have used a WOW journal tag frame, which I have inked and the WOW Floer branch which I have inked and "blinged" up! I've added red rhinestones to give it some colour and more of a finish than just inking.

With "Moments", I have inked up all the WOW chippie and then finished off the Keyhole and Frame with a spray of Glimmermist and then Dimensional Magic/Glossy Accents for a shiny finish. With the Photo Corner Flourish, I have inked in a few coats of white ink and then added Dimensional Magic/Glossy Accents for a shiny coat on top. With the Moments title, I have given it a light spray of Glimmermist for a subtle effect.

With "Family" I have inked the WOW Family title in a light brown suede colour and given it a shimmery lift with a light spray of pearl Glimmermist and a shiny coat of Glossy Accents. Close up for the effect detail....

The Design Team work is split over both sites, so make sure you save both in your favourites so that you don't miss out on some WOW inspiration!

And now my turn, a few updates for you all featuring some lovely WOW chippie.

For "Family" I have used the Family title. I have inked in a shade of brown and added crackle effects to continue the distressed effect.

For "Precious Moments", I have used the Precious and Moments titles and Photo Corner Flourish. To create a finish, I have inked and sprayed with Pearl Glimmermist for a slight shine.

For "Sweet Bond", I have used the fabulous Small Banners, which I have covered in patterned paper and inked. With Flourish 7, I have inked in 2 different shades and added Pearl
Glimmermist and then re-inked. I've added some small butterflies and pearls to decorate.

For "Too Cute", I have used the beautiful Too Cute in A Circle chipboard, and inked in a shade of
blue and added a shade of Glimmermist for a lustreous shine. Using the Small Banner, I have
covered in patterned paper and inked and sprayed with Glimmermist. I finished off the page with a splash of Glimmermist across the top corner. The spraying evened out a plain corner that needed that little umph!

Off the page work

Happy Australia Day!

Sydney has hit a heat wave this week, so I am spending my Australia Day perched in front of the air con! It's perfect timing to sit in front of the laptop and upload some recent off the page work is below for your viewing pleasure....

The beautiful photo tray from Words or Whatever (WOW).... I have used textured paste over the frame and painted cream and finished off with lots of WOW chipboard and some Kaisercraft paper. There are a mix of flowers in here, including my Prima favourites! A few close ups of some of the detail are below.
Also part of the photo tray is this middle section, i took it out and created a separate frame. I have also used a chippie dress form from WOW.

A great shadow box photo frame from WOW together with the WOW double chippie heart on top and a WOW key amongst the flowers.

Lastly another shadow box frame. I created this one for Mum. A rare pic of my brother, sister and I :) I've used a WOW heart on this one too.

The frames are really simple but effective gift ideas and don't take very long to pull together. They are a great mini project idea :)

Recent-ish work

Well it's been a while between posts again and early warning, it will no doubt be a long one!! I was trying to get into the habit of posting regularly, so hopefully the new year will kick me back into gear! The last few months have been crazy with selling, finding somewhere to move to, moving, unpacking and trying to get ourselves sorted in general, so it's been difficult to get much of anything done!

After weeks of endless and stressful searching, we found a lovely 3 bed townhouse a little closer to work! I have my own permanent scrapping space next to Ben's PC space on the top floor, so no need to constantly pack it up or worry what state it's in!

We've had a few dramas with a leak somewhere in the ensuite and spent 7 weeks on a mattress on the floor in the spare room until our agent and strata sorted it all out. 5 plumbers later and many a headache, it was repaired and we moved into the main bedroom the week before Christmas. Needless to say we still have a few boxes to unpack and a load at my parents, but we will eventually get there! It's lovely having so much more space, we just have to get used to it!

I have been fortunate enough to find time to scrap, so for your viewing pleasure, here is a collection of work from the last 2 months or so. I hope you enjoy and can gain some inspiration....

A fun LO using Graphic 45.... this pic of my sister and I was taken some time ago at a friend's fancy dress birthday party. It worked so well with this paper range. A few of the details up close...
This adorable munchkin is one of my cousin's kids. They are just so photogenic! These were taken at a family birthday celebration back in June and I just love the pics I was able to capture. I have used a WOW chipboard scroll for this one.

And of course, a few close ups of the details, including some rare journalling from me!

I just love this Kaiser range! I've used a number of WOW chipboard on this one as well.... the dress form, flourish and viney flourish (I don't know the exact names, so head over to the website to check them out).

I managed to get 2 layouts finished at the Scraploot social scrap last week and had so much fun playing with the new glittery paper from My Minds Eye. I had glitter everywhere!! I did manage to clean up as much as possible so poor Sue didn't have a huge mess to contend with!

"Moments"... A rare pic of my brother, sister and I. My brother hates having his photo taken, so this was the good shot after he hid behind the lounge at the last minute in the pic before it! Unlike my sister and I, who want to make sure the photo is perfect, it has to be a quick one shot with him! A few close ups as well.....I love this new My Mind's Eye paper!!

"Sisters": Published in Scrapbook News and Review - Vol. 3 Issue 11.

"Sisters"... more My Mind's Eye paper! I bought all the new ranges and will be scrapping for ages with it lol! It is so easy to scrap with... This one features a WOW flourish that I have cut into 3 pieces.... As usual I started blading the paper and then raised it up with some 3D foam.

Another new fav.... Echo Park paper! I've used one of the WOW frames on this page too. The pic is somewhat crooked.... I need some decent light to re-take these pics. And of course my addiction to Prima continues.....

The first is a Twiddleybitz floating frame. I used another of my new favourite products, texture paste!!
WOW Baby Carriage album..... this one is a gift for a friend due to give birth to her first munchkin in a few weeks.

I've made some small photo mats for each page and some "details" pages so that she can add pics throughout the year and all her birth details and "firsts". This is such a cute little album to work with and it came together fairly quickly!!
So despite all my scrap gear being packed away and working from a small stash I take to social scraps, I've actually managed to get a bit done over the past few weeks!! Our apartment is going into week 2 of it's sale. We've had a few offers and hopefully can get just that little bit more this week and sign the contract.... I don't think I can live through another week of constantly having to clean and keep this place spotless. Bring on the scrap space again lol! I know it's only for a little while and am going to love when I have space to leave it out permanently! I'm fortunate to be able to work well from my small and ever growing portable stash though thankfully! I must stop buying more flowers though lol!

Words or Whatever Design Team

I am extremely excited on making the Words or Whatever Design Team!! I feel honoured to be working with such a talented group of people and look foward to the fun ahead!

I've been madly cleaning over the past few weeks, getting our place ready for sale, so not a huge amount of scrapping time to be had, but I have been able to finish a few layouts and some off the page items. We had our first open house today, so fingers crossed we sell soon and I can drag my scrapping stash out again! I've been able to work from my well stocked social scrap supplies thankfully!

New blog design

After spending most of yesterday afternoon and last night, my new blog design is almost there!! I'm happy with my pretty little header that I created myself. Now I just have to get the background size sorted! So a little bit more work to do today and a bit of fiddling, but it's almost done... which means I can then get started on some scrapping lol!

New work....

Not a great deal of scrapping been done lately due to lack of free time.... but I did manage to get 2 finished at the recent Scraploot social night and one from earlier in the month.

"Family Fun": Published in Scrapbook News and Review - Vol. 3 Issue 11.

This one I started earlier in July. I love this new Kaisercraft Lush range and this was such a lovely pic of my Mum and my cousin. I've used Twiddleybitz fern vine and some yummy Prima flowers. I went a little nuts with the layering - once I started I couldn't stop! A few close ups....

I think this one ended up being my quickest layout in history! The October Afternoon papers are so easy to work with and ever so yummy!! I love this range. This pic is of 2 of my cousin's kids. They are so cute, yet ever so mischievious! They are ever so photogenic though and I loved the pics I took of them at the races. I started going a bit crazy layering paper here too! A few close ups...

More Kaisercraft goodness! This Up, Up & Away range is great for the masculine pages. I just realised I started on the layering here too!! This was another pic I love from the race day. And a few close ups....

I have a few cards to post as well but the lovely recipients haven't received them yet, so I'll post them in a few weeks. I'll be laid up for a few days next week whilst resting my foot, so I am hoping the creativity kicks back in and I can get some scrapping done. The up side of injuries! Fingers crossed the cortisone injection works and the few days rest help it kick in and I get back on track (yes I have everything crossed!!)

I don't think I've ever done 2 posts in one day before LOL!!

I'm loving my camera and taking photos at the moment, so thought I'd share a few of my favourites that I've taken recently. Hubby bought me a new 50mm F1.8 lense for my birthday but I haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet, so that's my mission for the next few months (and getting used to not being able to adjust the zoom with it!). I had a chance to take a heap of pics at my cousin's 18th recently as my other little cousins were there and I love being able to watch their innocence and capture these moments without them realising.

I'm also loving shooting in black and white straight from the camera too!

These are my cousin's munchkins. We were at the races, so they loved picking a favourite and cheering on the horses all afternoon!

The last 2 are of my beautiful mum and my cousin & hubby and I.

These ones are from my mother in law's birthday brekky this morning. The first one is my hubby & his family. A very rare pic as the boys hate the camera!

This portrait pic is with my new lense, i love the softness of the photos with this lense!

A new LO, cards and some kits for my LSS......

The lovely Sue from Scraploot asked if I'd like to prepare a few kits for her a while back and I of course jumped at the opportunity! I finally had some scrapping time last weekend and got them finished! Below are a few sneak peeks of the 3 kits.... I'm not sure when they will go on sale, so keep an eye out over the coming weeks, either in person at the gorgeous shop in Prospect or online.

The last one is a double LO that I am finally really happy with!

I managed to finish this layout at the last Scraploot social scrap. It's one of my mum and her beautiful friend. I'm going to frame and give it to her, as she has been at me for a while for one to put up in her freshly painted spare room - this one matches the colour tones now :) I love this new Kaisercraft range.

I finished off a few cards this week for my Dad's and mother in law's birthdays.

This one is for Dad using the one of the new Kaisercraft ranges and Stampin' Up! stamp set.

This one was for my mother in law. This is Websters Pages paper and a stamp set from Stampin' Up!. The background stamp on the cardstock is one of the new Kaisercraft stamps.

I recently did a class with Rachel Greig from Darkroom Door and love this new crayon resist technique we learnt. It's my new favourite for cards! I bought one of the stamps that has this cute old truck on it and now that I won't see Dad until next weekend, might have to make another card and use that one instead and save the card I originally made for another day lol!! I'm feeling a little drained and sleepy at the moment, so I will see how I go.... somehow I don't think i'm going to get as much done as I initially thought this weekend! I think it will be a lazy one crashing on the lounge watching DVDs and the V8's instead!

I finally remembered to take some pics of my recent layouts, so I took the opportunity whilst the camera was out this morning....

"Beautiful Friends": Published in Scrapbook News and Review - Vol. 3 Issue 11.

I finished this one at the Scraploot crop a few weekends ago... it's of my oldest friend and I at her 30th/farewell last year. Her & her hubby and kids moved out west for work almost 12 months ago... i handmade some of the flowers, i'm definitely addicted to them at the moment! Some close ups....

I started this one at the crop as well. These pics were taken down at Weeri Beach on Ben's birthday. We got away for a few days down the coast to celebrate and chill out.

Some new work....

Shoot it's been a while again! I haven't had a chance to photograph my recent layouts, but have a few recent cards and an off the page project that I have finished. The OTP box was part of an engagement present for some special family friends. I kept with their red, black and white colour theme....

I hand made the flowers on all projects. I'm addicted to these cute ribbon flowers at the moment! It's been a whirlwind long weekend, so hopefully I will have a chance to take some photos of my layouts during the week.

My poor neglected blog... I didn't realise it had been so long since posts. Now that I know how to use my camera a little better (thanks to the fab class that the talented Ali Russell held at Scraploot yesterday), there are no excuses for not getting my photos taken quicker and uploaded straight away (before I forget again!).

Here are a few newbies for your viewing pleasure.....

I am loving the new October Afternoon papers.... this pic of hubby worked perfectly once I aged it and altered it to sepia. This was taken on his uncle's vineyard in Melbourne earlier this year (before I knew how to use the camera properly!) A few close ups:

I'm loving the various flower designs on the market on the moment, as well as these cute little DIY ones. DIY is very handy when you don't quite have the right colour or size and they tie in well with the rest of your layout.

I've had these My Mind's Eye papers in a kit for a while and finally got around to showing them off.

I fell in love with this range from Kaisercraft when it was released. It's sat in my stash for a while now and I finally took the plunge and cut into it! I'm loving making these cute little flowers at the moment!

I fell in love with this new Basic Grey range as well..... so much so that I bought the entire paper pack, so you are going to see quite a few LO's from this range!

A few close ups...... I created dimension with the stickers in the pack by lifting each layer with some foam tape. The title was inspired from the movie on TV at the time when I was working on the LO, hence P.S. I Love You.

Under Construction

Just like my life at the moment, my blog is starting to go under construction. As well as revamping the graphics and colours, I am revamping the title. I've made a minor start in the settings LOL but still need to change the header. To celebrate these new beginnings, I will also have some candy up for grabs, so watch this space for details on how you can win.

Whilst trying to keep a positive outlook on life, I figure I'd start off each week with some happy thoughts, well in my case, images of pretty things that make me smile!

How comfy do those day beds look! I'm in renovation mode at the moment. We are getting our apartment ready for sale and looking at ideas for when we buy a house in the next few months. I'm such a cushion and fluffy blanket girl. I have picked up some gorgeous fluffy blankets over the last few winters and now have the matching hot water bottle cover!

How gorgeous are these flowers! I stumbled across the peach ones at my LSS last week but am still trying to track the others down and am dying to see the beautiful tulle ones in real life. It got me thinking about making my own, so I've started some web surfing and found some beautiful ideas, so that's my next mini project!

I have finished a few LO's recently that I am yet to photograph, so I will update you all when I can get some decent sunlight to take the photos on the weekend. Stay tuned.....

New sneak peeks

Just a sneak peek of the layout I did for the SBM never been published cover comp. I had another LO that I wanted to submit but didn't quite meet the criteria, so I re-did it in a different paper range with the right sized photo and moved (and changed) the title. There are quite a few other changes to the original one I did, but it is still fairly similar, which was what I wanted as I loved the original one so much. I started it at Tiff's crop night over a week ago and have finally gotten around to finishing it!

"Sisterly Love": Published in Scrapbooking Memories - Vol. 12 No.11.

I absolutely love these beautiful flowers that the clever Chris makes from B2Creations. The other flowers are handmade from a tutorial that Chris gave us at a retreat last year. I have to be patient when I try to make them as they are fiddly, but I love the effect. I have used the Kaisercraft Prairie Lane paper - I'm a sucker for anything brown!

I also found some pics on my camera (my pretty new Digital SLR that hubby and I got for a good deal when we got back from Hawaii - it was so worth the 2 years interest free term to pay it off!) of a few cards I have made over the past few months.

They were all for either friends or family members birthdays. Now I'm off to make some more :)

Time for a change

I thought it was about time I gave my poor neglected blog a bit of a make over. So in with the new and out with the old. I will probably change it again next week as I am not entirely happy with it, but I don't have the patience to fiddle with it too much at the moment, so a quick change it is!

I don't have any new scrapping or card pics to show you just yet as I haven't really done much lately. I am just finishing off a LO I am doing for a competition at SBM, so hopefully over the next few days I can put some sneak peeks up. I also have to add the title and journalling to the LO I did at a class on Wednesday night and I can show you that one too. We used the new Basic Grey Nook & Pantry papers, they are so yum!

Long time again....

Seems time has gotten the better of me and it's been a while between posts. I just can't seem to find any time to get anything these days! I was trialling a 9 day fortnight before xmas and have continued it since i got back to work after the break to try to help me slow down a little and have some 'me' time, but it seems to create the opposite effect! Despite trying to create more 'free' time to relax, we just seem to end up with more and more on our plate.

With this lack of 'time' has come a lack of scrapping mojo as well. I have managed to almost finish one LO over the past few weeks and have booked into a few classes at my LSS this month to try to re-energise the creative side of my brain! I am also looking forward to a crop night this Friday night at my beautiful friend Tiff's place. Mind you I don't think I will get much scrapping done as I will be too busy drooling over her amazing scrap space LOL!

What a crazy few weeks!

I'm well back into the swing of things with work and other commitments. I'm hoping to finally get some "me" time to catch up on things at home and try to get a little more organised. I've done zero scrapping but did finally get to see one of the Kaisercraft outlets on a recent quick visit to Melbourne! I also discovered another great store and shopped up a storm so I have lots of new goodies, if I can ever find the time to use them!

Hubby & I have also decided we really want to move into a bigger place this year, so I have added this to my never ending To Do list! I am having fun searching the net for suburbs that we can both decide on. I think we may have finally found the suburb, but it's a tad far from work, has no public transport but is in the bush without being too far in the bush, it's not too far to get to the coast, it's close to our families and is a growing community. If we chose here then we'd also be building from scratch so we can do a bit of dreaming with the plans and then get back to reality and build what we can afford LOL!

Not much of an update on my foot yet either. I went for my MRI on the weekend and have to wait until next week to see the surgeon again. I can understand the 3 words that say "no tendon tear" though!! That's one good thing thankfully. I can't understand the rest of the medical jargon in the other 3 pages of the report, so I'll have to wait until next week to find out exactly what is wrong. Fingers crossed that the worst thing they have to do is a cortisone injection and keep my foot up for a bit.

Family and friends have been on my mind a lot lately... time just seems to fly and then months pass before we catch up. There is one dear friend that has been on my mind and the pain that she is going through. To the beautiful Tiff, you and your family are in my thoughts constantly and I hope that you are able to cherish this time that you have together and make it special for your dad (I hope he gets that round of golf in too). To everyone going through a rough time at the moment, I'm sending you many many cyber hugs and all my best wishes.

I am back on deck now after our holiday and trying to get back in the swing of things LOL! Only 2 days to go and I ahve to head back to work, which I am not looking forward to of course! Merry Christmas

This will no doubt be my last post this year as I head off to Hawaii with hubby for a much needed holiday on Monday. As we planned the trip at the last minute, the last few weeks have been extremely busy and tiring trying to get everything done before we leave and trying to catch up with as many family and friends as we could. Unfortunately we ran out of time, so we will have to see everyone we missed in the new year.

I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope that you have a wonderful New Year. See you all in 2010 (with hopefully some happy snaps from our holiday!)

Wow it's been a while since my last post. Apologies blog followers.

My blog is now back to a personal blog and my business site is separate, so that I can go back to enjoying sharing my work again (well when I have time again to actually get anything done!).

I am off to a product day scrapping tomorrow with the gorgeous new High Tea range from Delish Designs. Happy Birthday to Scraploot as we will also be celebrating their brithday in the process. I booked in for it agaes ago and had forgotten about it.... am hoping to have a fun day of scrapping and be inspired to get a heap finished when I get home - I still have DT work to finish and a few challenges too, fingers crossed :)

Where can I find some more time....

I have been so busy lately and I have no idea where all my time has gone! I can't remember the last time I scrapped properly and wasn't in a mad rush to meet a competition deadline. I'm off to an awesome class on Wednesday night which will be a welcome change and I hope to kick in some well needed creativity (not that I know when I am going to be able to make any use of it!).

I have the Sydney Stampin' Up! Regionals in 2 weeks so I madly finished my swap cards on the weekend with my wonderful hubby's help (he is a pro at stamping now LOL!). 48 cards down and I am hoping I don't need any more. I still have my xmas cards to make yet.

To make things even more crazy, we decided to get out of town for Xmas and booked our holiday last week! Only 6 weeks and we will be in sunny Hawaii. I can't wait!! We have something on every weekend until we leave including one of my gorgeous childhood friends wedding the weekend before we go - I can't wait to see all my girls, it's been way too long.

Hmmm... kinda wondering how on earth I am going to find time to fit everything in - damn I just remembered I have my work xmas party to finalise in this time and working full time - it's no wonder I have no time for scrapping!

I hope you are all doing well now that I've had my rant and are finding time to enjoy the finer things in life... including scrapping!

These are some cute little Thank You notes I made recently. They all have the same design and image, yet the different coloured paper and cardstock/ink, all give a different look. I stamped the same "Thank You" stamp in the bottom corner on the back of them as well. I have used Stampin' Up! Designer Series paper together with the Fun & Fast Notes stamp set and the Short & Sweet stamp set.

I finally got some scrapping done last week for my DT work over at Scrappers Garden. I have created 2 double LO's and one single page. These 2 sneaks are from a double LO. This pp range was so much fun to work with. Lots of bright colours! I need to crop the other LO's so I will post them in the next few days.

The following LO is my take on the July sketch at Scrappers Garden. The pics are from one of my best friend's little boy's first birthday which we celebrated recently. He is so adorable!

Where has the time gone! I can't believe it is July already. I celebrated my 30th birthday last weekend with my wonderful family and friends. It was a wonderful night and courtesy of my wonderful photographer sister, I have some great pics (including my new avatar of me in my lovely new red dress!). I will have to get organised and put some happy snaps up here for you all to see. Those that are on Facebook and want to have a stickybeak, they are all up there for you to see for now :)

I didn't get a great deal of scrapping done in June, but have made what feels like a million cards for my Stampin' Up! workshops! My new order of stamps arrived this week so I have had so much fun experimenting with them and I am addicted to my Stampin' Pastels! I am trying to get organised to take some pics of some of the cards I have created. I placed my pre-order for the new Stampin' Up! mini catalogue today. I'm in love with everything in it! You will all love what they have on offer. Customers can commence ordering from this mini catalogue from 1 August. I can see I will be ordering everything from it in the few months it is available!

Most of you would now have seen the new Kaisercraft QOne ranges. Aren't they gorgeous!! I placed an order for some of their goodies today through Scrappers Garden. I love the storage options available too - what a wonderful idea!! I can't wait for them to arrive. I had to keep myself extremely restrained and not buy everything!! I am going to have so much fun creating with these goodies - I can't wait!

I'm off to my second Stampin' Up! workshop tomorrow, Mum is hostessing. Lucky it's close family and friends as my voice has disappeared this week and is only slowly coming back LOL!!

Scrapping from May

I have been extremely busy the last few months and have not had a chance to update my blog with my LO's created in May. I haven't done any scrapping in June yet. I have paper and photos cut out ready to attempt my first LO of the month but don't have a great deal of mojo at the moment and am a little burnt out. I'm busily preparing for my first Stampin' Up! 1. Buy a house

4. Spend more time with my husband and family

6. Have a dedicated scrapping area besides my dining room table!
7. Be carefree again… no responsibilities hmmmm
8. Go on a huge all expenses paid shopping trip!

Mother's Day Clock

A lot has been happening in the past 2 weeks since my last post.

I am now a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, so watch this space as I will have more updates on this in the next week or so and will let you know how you can purchase some of these amazing products :)

I went to an awesome class at Scraploot last week, taught by the wonderful Nicole. I am still fiddling with my finished product, so will upload some pics when I have it finished. It is in my favourite colours - browns and greens - and something I have never tried before (and love it!), Shabby Chic! I am dying to do some more shabby chic LO's now.... I'm in love with lace, so now I need to go and find some great pieces!

I got cracking last Saturday and whipped up this gorgeous OTP clock for Mum for Mother's Day. Given how quick I did it, I was very pleased with the finished product! Thanks to my wonderful sister Kimberley, photographer extrodinairre, for taking some of these pics for me. It was really overcast and I was having problems with the camera until she came along :)

We are off to a family friend's 21st this weekend with a medieval twist. It's so much fun dressing up!!... so lots more pics to scrap next week... until next time, have a wonderful day :)

Memories....

No scrapping updates today ... instead I have been reflecting on the life of a wonderful friend and how her family are feeling today on the 10th anniversary of her death.

Tracey was a wonderful person and had such a bright spirit. She was an absolute angel and I know she looks upon us each and every day. She is always in my thoughts and I wonder what life would be like today if she was still with us. I cherish the friendship we had and the wonderful memories I have. It sounds cliched but Tracey made our lives so much richer by just knowing her. I'm trying to track down a pic of her so I can put it up here and you can all see what a beautiful soul she was.

My thoughts are with family and friends today.... and of course with Tracey, RIP xx

I found out this afternoon that I have been accepted as a Design Team member for the lovely Scrappers Garden. I can't wait to get started!!! A huge thanks to Linda for the wonderful opportunity!

These are some pics from a beautiful place up the coast, Wagstaffe. One of the guys from work took a few of us up there for the weekend (it's his family's holiday house). It is absolutely beautiful up there and is such an escape from reality.

I finally gave in and started a Blog. So here is my first very non eventful post. I am home sick today and just laying low and spending too much time in front of the PC!
